Arnfinn Aunsmo
CEO and founder
Arnfinn Aunsmo is a veterinarian who graduated from Edinburgh University in 1994 and earned his PhD from the Norwegian School of Veterinary Science in 2009. He currently holds a 20% position as Professor II in Health Management in Aquaculture at the Norwegian University of Life Sciences (NMBU).
His extensive industry experience includes roles such as Manager of Biology and Nutrition at SalMar, COO at AquaGen, Fish Health Manager and Director of Development at Måsøval, and COO at Ice Fish Farm in Iceland.

Jostein Mulder Pettersen
Senior researcher
Jostein is a veterinarian who graduated from the Norwegian School of Veterinary Science in 2012. He obtained his PhD in 2017 from the Norwegian University of Life Sciences (NMBU), specializing in epidemiology and animal health economics.
Jostein joined Salmalytics in August 2024. He brings valuable experience from the aquaculture industry, having worked with suppliers such as Pharmaq (part of Zoetis), where he focused on developing fish vaccines. He has also worked at PatoGen in research and development as well as advisory services.

Martin Skjåvik
Research associate
Martin Skjåvik is currently a veterinary student at Norwegian University of Life Sciences (NMBU) and has been working part-time at Salmalytics since 2022. He supports various functions within the company and is responsible for managing the feed monitoring service.

Eystein Skjerve
Senior researcher
Eystein Skjerve is a veterinarian, educated at the Norwegian School of Veterinary Science (1983) with a PhD from the same institution (1987).
Eystein has had a long research career at the Norwegian School of Veterinary Science/NMBU, with extensive experience in analyzing epidemiological data and supervising numerous PhD students. From 2000, he served as a professor in epidemiology and veterinary public health until stepping down from his main position in 2024. He remains affiliated with NMBU as professor emeritus.
