As part of the FHF project GillWatch (901912), we investigated whether respiratory frequency measured using an underwater camera has potential as a non-invasive indicator of gill health in Atlantic salmon.
The study was conducted as a controlled AGD challenge model (Paramoeba perurans). The results describe associations between respiratory frequency, infection load, and gill changes under experimental conditions. This work forms part of a broader research effort within data-supported gill health monitoring.
